DIVE BACK IN TO THE REMASTERED WORLD OF CTRL

Breaking Fourth, London’s leading VR studio, pioneering original narrative VR experiences, has today launched a remastered version of its groundbreaking, critically acclaimed debut production, Ctrl.

Viewers are invited to the world final of an esports tournament to follow the exploits of champion gamer Liam (Alfie Kingsnorth), who under the gaze of sneering commentators (Oliver Mason and Sammy Moore) battles his way through to the final rounds. Not all is well in Liam’s domestic life, however, and as the action progresses the lines between the virtual world and the real are blurred with devastating effects...

Originally shown to an exclusive audience at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, followed by a successful release on PlayStation VR, Ctrl Remastered brings viewers slick, updated visuals in keeping with the technological leaps that the virtual reality world has made and delivers an astonishing narrative experience that will take viewers on a compelling, emotional journey.

“We received really positive feedback from Ctrl’s original release and found that it stimulated a lot of discussion, not just because of the medium but because of the more emotional elements of the story,” said David Kaskel, Co-founder and CEO of Breaking Fourth. “It’s this level of poignancy that we can deliver with such impact in VR, so it made sense to keep the technological aspects as current as possible to ensure that delivery both for our current audience and a new one.”

Ctrl Remastered is now featured on Samsung VR. The content is also available on YouTube 360 (see our YouTube channel here), Oculus Video and via Breaking Fourth’s own WARP app, alongside the London studio’s other pioneering content, available to download on the Oculus store.
